Due to IWF World Championships 2023, a weightlifting qualification event of Olympic Games Paris, approved and further acknowledged by IOC that is set up during 2nd – 17th September 2023 at Riyadh Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, the major games of Asia, will be held at the same period as the World Championships accordingly.
Both are significant events of weightlifting of which we are aware. In the AWF Executive Board meeting on 21stDecember 2022 they thus authorized the AWF General Secretary to coordinate with Organizing Committee of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou how to manage the issue of their time conflicts.
Under good works between the Organizing Committee and AWF both parties agree to set up the weightlifting event in Hangzhou Asian Games during 30th September – 7th October 2023 in place.
This kind cooperation with great achievement is outstandingly led by President Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, General Secretary Boossaba Yodbangtoey as well as Deputy General Secretary Meng Bo (from Chinese Weightlifting Association) such a showcase of unity as spirit of Asia accountable for our Asian weightlifting family actually.
