The Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation organized the 1st Online International Weightlifting Cup dedicated to the Independence Day of Uzbekistan during 28th – 30th August 2020. The Organizing Committees invited weightlifters from around the world to participate in this online competition.
Although it was really hard to travel aboard and compete in the international event, the competitions have been continued in the online via Zoom application. There were 99 Athletes from 25 countries competed during the event. This huge numbers was a good sign to show their desires to return to the real competition as soon as possible. The Uzbek team did great job at the first place in Men classification, following by Armenia and Venezuela. Also, the Chinese lifters won the first, Australia – Second and Uzbekistan – Third in Women classification.
