Asian and European Weightlifting Federations Unite at EWF’s 55th Anniversary in Poland

Raszyn, Poland — Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, the General Secretary of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, joined the European Weightlifting Federation’s special Congress and the 2024 Junior and U23 Championships in Raszyn, Poland, celebrating the EWF’s 55th anniversary. The event brought together prominent figures and athletes from Europe and beyond, highlighting a strong partnership across continents

Addressing the Congress, Mr. Al Harbi congratulated the EWF on its milestone anniversary and extended his best wishes to athletes and coaches competing in the Championships.

“The European Weightlifting Federation has a long and proud tradition, and it’s an honor to join in celebrating this landmark. I wish all the athletes and coaches great success in this Championship, and I look forward to witnessing the strength of each competitor,” Al Harbi stated.

Al Harbi also highlighted the growing cooperation between the Asian and European weightlifting federations. “It’s a joy to see how our partnerships between Asia and Europe grow stronger each year. Together, we will keep working closely in all areas to support the growth of weightlifting worldwide.”

As young talents from across Europe compete in Raszyn, the event underscores the commitment to the sport’s development and future. Mr. Al Harbi’s visit symbolizes the shared dedication to promoting weightlifting at every level, strengthening ties between Asia and Europe.
