13th March 2020 – Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA) held the Anti – Doping Seminar at Chiang Mai, Thailand for national weightlifters and coaches. This is such a good opportunity to emphasize how important of this topic directly to the athletes.
Doping Control Agency of Thailand (DCAT), NOC in cooperation with TAWA, held the Anti – Doping Seminar for Thai weightlifting athletes, coaches on 12th March 2020 at 700th Anniversary Chiang Mai Stadium, Thailand. The purposes are as follows:
- To prepare coaches and athletes to participate in the local and international events
- To educate the Anti-Doping policy to the national athletes according to WADA Code
- To test the knowledge of participants by Anti-Doping E-Learning System (ADeL-Alpha)
Nowadays, the Anti-Doping policy is very important for every sport, especially weightlifting. This was a good opportunity that DCAT experts has lecture for Thai national weightlifters. Preventing of doping in sport was the main purpose of the seminar and we must keep clean sport and save the values of sport for our young generations. Also, coaches as a mentors and role models should protect pure sport as good role model and use own experience to show the importance of competition in a fair and clean sport. TAWA emphasized that they will make all effort to against doping and making weightlifting as clean sport in Thailand.
