On 16 July, the AWF Executive Board Meeting was held in the morning at the at the Ministry of of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It would be honour that His Excellency Adkham Ilkhamovich Ikramov, the Minister of Sports Development, delivered the opening speech to welcome all board members to the city of Tashkent, also the AWF Congress was held in the afternoon in the same day at Uzbekistan hotel.
The meeting and congress were held before the competition day of 2022 Asian Youth & Junior Championships which will be compete during 17 – 25 July 2022 at Tashkent. The meeting led by H.E. Mr. Mohamed AL Mana, AWF President, and Madam Boosssba Yodbangtoey, AWF General Secretary. The Executive Board approved the committees and financial reports. Moreover, the board agreed that there will no transgender in the AWF Events which meant Men for Men Categories and Women for Women Categories.
For the 2022-24 AWF Events, the board approved that Bahrain will be the host of 2022 Asian Championships which will be held during 6 – 16 October at Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain. Furthermore, the 2023 Asian Youth & Junior will be placed at New Delhi, India, also the Uzbekistan approved for the host of 2024 Asian Championships (Qualification to Paris 2024) according to the board decision. In addition, the AWF Electoral Congress scheduled in December at Doha, Qatar.
In the AWF Congress, the AWF President and General Secretary congratulated on the achievement of representative of our Asian Families who participated in the IWF Electoral Congress recently. Maj. Gen. Intarat Yodbangtoey (THA) as IWF Honorary President, Mr. Mohammed Jalood (IRQ) as IWF President, also Mr. Mohammed Alharbi (KSA), Ms. Hiromi Miyake (JPN), Mr. Tom Liaw (SGP) and Ms. Wen Hsin Chang (TPE) as new IWF EB Members. For the IWF Committee; Ms. Olga SOLOVYEVA (KAZ) as Technical Committee, Mr. Li Wei (CHN), Ms. Kim Yu Mi (PRK) as Medical Committee, Mr. Li Qingzheng (CHN) as C&R Committee.
