AIMAG Riyadh 2026 – Weightlifting
The weightlifting competition at the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will take place from 17 to 21 December 2026 at Boulevard City – AR3, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The overall Games run from 11 to 21 December 2026. Information below is based on the Weightlifting Technical Handbook, Version 1.0; competition dates and session schedules are subject to change.
Key dates
- 31 October 2026: Sport entries close and final entries submission deadline.
- 1 November 2026: Late Athlete Replacement policy activated.
- 13 December 2026: Opening Ceremony at Boulevard City; time TBC.
- 15 December 2026: Teams and technical officials arrive; training venue opens.
- 16 December 2026: Team Manager Meeting and Draw, 12:00-13:00, Chefs de Mission Meeting Hall, Athletes’ Village. Technical rehearsal and athlete familiarization at Boulevard City – AR3; times TBC.
- 17-21 December 2026: Weightlifting competition; session times to be finalized.
- 21 December 2026: Teams and technical officials depart.
Events and entries
Men: 60 kg, 75 kg, 95 kg and 110 kg.
Women: 49 kg, 57 kg, 69 kg and 86 kg.
Each National Olympic Committee may enter one athlete per event, with a maximum of eight athletes: four men and four women.
Eligibility
- Athletes must be at least 15 years old by year of birth, born on or before 31 December 2011, and meet OCA and relevant federation eligibility requirements.
- Athletes and team officials must hold a valid WADA ADEL certificate.
- Athletes must submit whereabouts through ADAMS at least three months before the first competition day, 17 December 2026.
- Weightlifting coaches must have a valid IWF International Coaching License.
- Late Athlete Replacements are permitted only until the Technical / Team Managers’ Meeting, subject to the handbook requirements.
Training and accommodation
The Athletes’ Village is at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU). Weightlifting training is at Hall 1 A, approximately five minutes’ walk from the Athletes’ Village. The Training Center operates from 07:00 to 23:00 daily. Training sessions and allocations will be confirmed through the official booking system.
Competition weigh-ins are scheduled two hours before competition. All local times are Riyadh time (GMT+3).
