2024 East Asian Weightlifting Championships Set to Take Place in Seocheon, Korea

The 2024 East Asian Weightlifting Championships are scheduled to be held from September 3rd to 8th in Seocheon, Korea. This event will be held in conjunction with the 2024 International Weightlifting Tournament featuring athletes from China, Japan, and Korea. The members of the East Asian Weightlifting Federation include the Republic of Korea, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau, and Mongolia.

The competition and training sessions will take place at the Seocheon Gymnasium, located at 26-6 Seonghwa-ro, Janghang-eup, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea. This venue has been carefully prepared to provide top-notch facilities for the athletes, ensuring a smooth and successful event.

AWF President Mohamed Yousef Al Mana expressed his congratulations on the tournament, stating, “We are thrilled to see how weightlifting is flourishing in East Asia. This region has shown remarkable success, especially at the Paris Olympics, and it is heartening to witness the sport’s continued growth here.” AWF General Secretary Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi added, “We are delighted to see the development of weightlifting in East Asia and wish all the athletes the best of luck. The future of weightlifting in this region looks very bright.”

This event is a remarkable opportunity for weightlifting enthusiasts to witness high-level competition while experiencing the culture and beauty of Seocheon, Korea. The local organizing committee, along with the East Asian Weightlifting Federation, has extended a warm invitation to all participants, promising a memorable and well-organized championship.
