August 20th, 2018, the first day of weightlifting competition started with the Women Category 48kg. It is excited games between AGUSTIANI SRI WAHYUNI, the Host Country, and Ri SONG GUM, DPR Korea. In the end, the gold medal belonged to Ri SONG GUM (PRK), also the silver and bronze medals belonged to AGUSTIANI SRI WAHYUNI (INA) and SUKCHAROEN THUNYA (THA) respectively. In this occasion, we have been honored by Ms. Puan Maharani, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Maj. Gen. Intarat Yodbangtoey, IWF 1st Vice President, and Mr. Mohammed Jalood, IWF General Secretary, came along together to award the medals for athletes
For the next event, it was honored that Mr. Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, AWF President, came to visit the venue and competition hall. The President also awarded the medals to the lifters in Men Category 56kg: Gold – OM YUN CHOL (PRK), Silver – THACH KIM TUAN (VIE), Bronze – BIN SUWOTO WIJO (INA). In addition, Mrs. Boossaba Yodbangtoey, AWF General Secretary, also came to give certificates and souvenirs for all winners. It was surprised that the venue were crowned by the attendances from DPR Korea, and that is important reason why their team won today. Congratulations to all Medalists!
