AWF Executive Board Meeting was held on June 21st, 2018 at Intercontinental Hotel, Doha, Qatar. In this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Yousef Al Mana, the President, and Mrs. Boossaba Yodbangtoey, General Secretary, were honored to welcome the Executive Members to participate in the meeting. Moreover, there are the honorable guests from International Weightlifting Federation (IWF): Dr. Tamás Aján, IWF President, Maj.Gen. Intarat Yodbangtoey, 1st IWF Vice President, Mr. Mohammed Hassan Jalood, IWF General Secretary, Mr. Zhanat Tussupbekov, IWF Vice President, Mr. Nicu Vlad, IWF Chairman of Technical Committee, Ms. Lilla Rozgonyi, IWF Director of Communication & Marketing, came to join and discuss in this meeting.
The meeting was started with Mr. Mohammed Yousef Al Mana’s Welcome Speech before the Board approved the last minute in Urgench, Uzbekistan. Then Mrs. Boossaba Yodbangtoey presented General Secretary’s Office Activities which is located at Bangkok, Thailand. The office has duties to coordinate, develop and work on weightlifting for the Asian Members. Furthermore, Mr. Sonny Kasiran presented the preparation of Asian Games, he also gave the information of Weightlifting Competition and Venues. In addition, the Board discussed on further important issues including the coming competitions such as 2018 Asian Cup & Inter-Club Weightlifting Championships, 2019 Senior (Men & Women) Weightlifting Championships (Qualification Event for 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games) in India, AWF sponsorship & TV by Mr. David Goldstrom, Financial Report, 2019 Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships in Pyongyang, etc.
