Our Asian lifters still did great jobs in 2020 Olympic Games at Tokyo. The first event started with Women’s 87kg, WANG Zhouyu (CHN) took Gold medal – 270kg without problem. The rest two medals were belonged to SALAZAR ARCE Tamara Yajaira (ECU) – 263kg and SANTANA PEGUERO Crismery Dominga -256kg respectively.
In the Heavyweight Women’s +87kg, the Olympic Gold was still in the hand of China when LI Wenwen, World Record Holder, set 5 new Olympic Records in this event. She lifted 140kg Snatch, 173kg and 180kg C&J, 313kg and 320kg for new records. CAMPBELL Emily Jade (GBR) won Silver – 283kg, just only 1kg than the third, ROBLES Sarah Elizabeth (USA) who lifted 282kg. This is all for today, it has only two days left!!
