Bhutan Weightlifting Association (BWA) has been received the weightlifting barbell sets from Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) on 26th August 2019. Mr. Sonam Tobgay DORJI, President of BWA, came to open the new set for his Association and this is a good opportunity for the further weightlifting development in Asian countries.
It was delighted to receive that BWA has tried the most effort to develop their coaches and lifters in weightlifting. In the last year, the BWA General Secretary and his coach came together to observe the 2nd EGAT King’s Cup, Thailand then they came back to held the Technical Development Program for Coaches Lifters and SSI of Bhutan in the this year. As a result, BWA was successful in the 1st National Weightlifting Championship in last July and ready to move forward for the South Asian Game, Nepal in this December.
Mr. Mohamed Yousef AL MANA, the AWF President, and Madam Boosaba YODBANGTOEY, AWF General Secretary, and all Executive Board Members gladly supports Member Federation every year with equipment most needed, we are happy to see that the equipment will be used to develop their lifters from participating in the national event to international competitions in the near future. The equipment are purposed for daily use by lifters during their training.
