Day 6: Olympic and World Champions Clash at Asian Weightlifting Championships

Jiangshan, China – The 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships witnessed a thrilling showdown of Olympic and World champions, with LIU Huanhua (CHN), the 2024 Olympic champion, and ANTROPOV Artyom (KAZ), the 2024 World champion, among the top contenders. DJURAEV Akbar (UZB), the 2020 Olympic champion and 2024 Olympic silver medalist, also showcased his world-class talent.

In the Men’s 102kg category, 2024 Olympic champion LIU Huanhua (CHN) secured gold with a total of 410kg (Snatch: 180kg, Clean & Jerk: 230kg). 2024 World champion ANTROPOV Artyom (KAZ) took silver with a total of 386kg (Snatch: 165kg, Clean & Jerk: 221kg). HASANBAYEV Davranbek (TKM) earned bronze with 377kg (Snatch: 182kg, Clean & Jerk: 195kg).

In the Women’s 87kg category, TIAN Dongping (CHN) won gold with a total of 259kg (Snatch: 118kg, Clean & Jerk: 141kg). JIANG Yujia (CHN) secured silver with 253kg (Snatch: 113kg, Clean & Jerk: 140kg). LO Ying-Yuan (TPE) claimed bronze with 246kg (Snatch: 108kg, Clean & Jerk: 138kg).

The Men’s 109kg category saw a clash of Olympic medalists, with 2020 Olympic champion and 2024 Olympic silver medalist DJURAEV Akbar (UZB) winning gold with a total of 406kg (Snatch: 183kg, Clean & Jerk: 223kg). AMRIDDINOV Sharofiddin (UZB) took silver with 395kg (Snatch: 181kg, Clean & Jerk: 214kg). JANG Yeonhak (KOR) earned bronze with 390kg (Snatch: 178kg, Clean & Jerk: 212kg).

China Dominates Medal Standings at Asian Weightlifting Championships

Jiangshan, China – After six days of competition, China has established a commanding lead in the medal standings at the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships.

With a total of 45 medals, China’s team has demonstrated exceptional performance across various weight categories. Their medal haul includes an impressive 23 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals, solidifying their dominance in the competition.

DPR Korea holds the second position in the standings with 12 medals (9 gold, 3 silver). Thailand follows in third place with 6 medals (3 gold, 3 silver).

Other notable performances include Indonesia with 7 medals and Korea with 16 medals.

The medal standings reflect the intense competition and athletic prowess showcased at the championships.
