29th November 2019, December is not only for the last month, but there are two major regional multi-sport events waiting for our lifters. The first weightlifting competition will be held in the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games). It starts from 1st to 4th December in Manila, Philippines, also Nepal will organize the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) at SRKC hall, Pokhara during 5th – 8th December 2019.

The 30th SEA Games is a qualification event, Silver level, so this will be the important part of weightlifting development in this region and the road to Tokyo 2020 in next year. They will compete in Ninoy Aquino Stadium at the center of the capital city and now our athletes and Technical Officials already arrived there!!

For the SAG, this will be another important games because it shows the unity of region. It gives opportunities for all countries to participate in this event such as Bhutan. It will be the first time of Bhutan team to attend in this event. Furthermore, the competition will be held in the beautiful city, Pokhara. We hope to see weightlifting fans there, let’s enjoy with the coming games together!
