Welcome to the 2020 Asian Championships at Tashkent!

The time went so fast after the postponement of Championships in the last year due to the pandemic. Now, we are ready to welcome all athletes and officials to the great event of Asia, 2020 Asian Championships, at Tashkent, Uzbekistan!

With great cooperation of the Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation, it is so glad to see our lifters return to the stage again after a year of pandemic. Today (15 April), the Final Entries Verification & Team Manager’s Meeting was held at Uzbekistan Hotel, also it has 27 teams which came to participate in this event.

In this meeting, Mr. Makhmudov Shakhrillo, IWF Executive Board Member and AWF Vice President, and Mr. Abdullah Jarmal, AWF Vice President, came together to explain the important information to all team. They emphasized that the COVID-19 Measures are restricted and everyone have to follow the rules for the whole of competition. The athlete health became the priority and we should focus on this matter. Furthermore, the representative of Japanese team presented the information of Tokyo 2020 during the meeting, he want to see everyone can join the Olympic Games without COVID-19 and hope to see all soon.
