26 April 2020, The AWF Executive Board Meeting was held on 26 April via VDO Conference, the main purpose was to update important information regarding to COVID-19 Pandemic effect on weightlifting.
The Meeting started on the Update Qualification system for Tokyo 2020. The update third qualification period may change to the end of this year, but it had to wait for IOC approval. After IWF confirms for the updates, the new date of events will be announced, including 2020 Asian Championships.
The Board also wants to support for the Member Federations which suffered from COVID-19. Member Federations can send the application of 2020 IWF Development Program to support Equipment, Seminar and IWF Events. The related supports will be decided later in the next meeting for the Asian Weightlifting Families.
