August 26th, 2018, Asian Weightlifting Federation officially announced Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that DPR Korea will be the host of 2019 Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships on the stage of Asian Games. Mr. Kim Il Guk, President of DPR Korea National Olympic Committee and the Minister of Ministry of Sports, confirmed with Mr. Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, AWF President, and Mrs. Boossaba Yodbangtoey, AWF General Secretary, for the host of 2019 Youth & Junior Championships at Pyongyang. Moreover, DPR Korea convinced that they are ready to welcome all Asian lifters in next year. In addition, this championships is the qualification event for 2020 Olympic Games and it will be held during 20th – 27th October 2019.
