Asian Olympians took all Medals in the First day of Tokyo 2020

Welcome to the first day of the great games of the world, 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The first weightlifting event started with Women’s 49kg and HOU Zhihui of China announced her first place and new World records in this event.

HOU set seven Olympic Records overall during this event and end       the day with three Olympic Records with 94kg Snatch, 116kg C&J and 210kg Total. She is also the 2018 World Champion and owns the World and Asian records in Snatch (96kg) and Total (213kg) in the 49kg.

In addition, MIRABAI Chanu Saikhom (IND) also set an Olympic Record in C&J with 115kg before HOU broke with 116kg in third attempt.  MIRABAI won the first Silver medal for India in Weightlifting while 2021 IWF Junior World Champion, AISAH Windy Cantika (INA), lifted 194kg for Bronze medal as age of 19. Congratulation to all Asian lifters!!
