Asian Weightlifting Federation Convenes Pre-Championship Committee Meetings in Jiangshan, China

The Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) held a series of strategic committee meetings on 8 May 2025 at the Jinling Grand Hotel in Jiangshan, China, in preparation for the upcoming Asian Championships 2025. These meetings, organized by the AWF governance, aimed to address critical operational and organizational matters prior to the commencement of the continental event.

The proceedings commenced with a Joint Committee meeting attended by AWF leadership, committee members, and key stakeholders. The session was chaired by AWF Vice President Hassan Jalood and General Secretary Al-Harby, who outlined the federation’s priorities for ensuring the successful execution of the championships. Subsequent meetings included dedicated sessions for the Medical Committee, Coaching & Research Committee, and Technical Committee, each focusing on discipline-specific protocols and standards.

Key agenda items addressed during the meetings encompassed athlete welfare, compliance with international weightlifting regulations, anti-doping measures, and the implementation of updated technical guidelines. The Medical Committee emphasized advancements in injury prevention and health monitoring systems, while the Coaching & Research Committee deliberated on innovations in training methodologies and data-driven performance analysis. Meanwhile, the Technical Committee reviewed competition logistics, equipment standards, and officiating protocols to guarantee fairness and efficiency during the event.

These collaborative discussions underscored the AWF’s commitment to upholding the integrity and prestige of the Asian Championships. By aligning stakeholder expertise with the federation’s strategic objectives, the meetings reinforced a unified approach to delivering a world-class sporting event that adheres to global standards and promotes the development of weightlifting across the region.
