AWF Vice President and Central Asian Weightlifting Federation President Shakhrillo Makhmudov paid an official visit to Tajikistan on 13 June, where he met with Sharif Davlatov, President of the Tajikistan Weightlifting Federation.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the development of weightlifting in Tajikistan, with special attention given to youth and junior athletes. The importance of providing young athletes with more opportunities to compete internationally was highlighted as a key factor in gaining experience and supporting long-term progress.
The discussion also focused on Tajikistan’s participation in the upcoming Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships, which will be held from 7 to 14 August this year in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The meeting reflected the continued commitment of the Asian Weightlifting Federation and Central Asian Weightlifting Federation to strengthening cooperation with national federations and supporting the growth of weightlifting across the region.
