Day 2 WWC: Asian Lifters took all Gold Medals

The second day of World Championships continued with the Women 45kg and 49kg categories and our Asian lifters did great jobs in both events.

In Women 45kg, it was a big competition between 3 athletes from 3 continents; Thanyathon Sukcharoen (THA), Saziye Erdogan (TUR), and Manuela Andrea Berrio Zuluaga (COL). Sukcharoen won the Gold with 77kg, just 1kg than Erdogan – 76kg in Snatch. For C&J, Zuluaga and Sukcharoen lifted same weight as 95kg, but Columbia lifter won the Gold with her first attempt at 95kg, Thanyathon took the Silver with 95kg in her second and Bronze for Erdogan. In Total, Thai lifter won the first place – 172kg, Zuluaga at the second – 170kg while Erdogan at the third – 169kg.

The next event was Women 49kg and Thai lifters continued their glory with 3 Gold medals. Surudchana Khambao (THA) finished 86kg for first Gold in Snatch followed by Rira Suzuki (JPN) – 78kg and Yulduz Dzumabayeva (TKM) – 76kg. In C&J, Khambao won Gold with 105kg. Both Japanese athletes Ibuki Takahashi and Rira Suzuki lifted at the same weight – 101kg for Silver and Bronze respectively. In last, Surodchana Khambao (THA) won 191 kg for the Gold, Rira Suzuki (JPN) with 179kg – Silver and Ibuki Takahashi (JPN) – Bronze with 172 kg. Congratulation to all!!
